Hello folks! I just finished working on a new short for my Youtube Channel Hapstance Films that is a parody of Bioshock Infinite. I did all the visual effects for it. It was tons of work but I'm glad it's done and out there for people to see. Give it a watch and pass it along to your friends! And while you at it, you may want to consider subscribing to our channel, that way you can be up to date with all our releases.

Without further ado, here is Fat Booker: [link]

Hey Max, It's cool to hear you're getting into 3D animation. I think my first word of advice would be to abandon Blender and find a way to get a copy of either Maya or 3DS Max. No one in the industry really uses Blender for animation and you would be much better off being able to tell studios eventually that you know how to use those other programs. Animation is fun but very time consuming thing. You have to really pay attention to very small details. Sometimes you even have to just be looking for things that feel right. You should buy the book The Animators Survival Kit by Richard Williams. Every animator should own that book. He talks about everything you need to know in there. You should also look at some of the old Disney films (Sleeping Beauty, Jungle Book, Alladin, etc.) and really study the animation in those movies. Pick one shot that has really interesting things going on in it and go through the shot frame by frame and really pick it apart. Look at the timing, spacing, posing, arcs, etc. of the shot. I've learned a lot from doing that. Above all, you have to be really passionate about it and really patient. It can get kind of tedious but the payoff is really nice. 3D Animation is a really good profession to go into. Especially now with the economy the way it is. It's one of those jobs that there will always be a need for. And as long as you really push yourself and never stop trying to learn how to animate better and get really good, you will always be wanted by someone to animate something. I hope this helped and it wasn't too overwhelming of a response! :)

I'm not sure how to go about getting a copy of Max or Maya. I do know it's cheaper if you get a student version of the software. Maybe if you search around for that...
